Oh….. do I love this time of year. Sun is always shining. The locals tend to mellow out a bit more than usual and a plethora of summer and nightlife activities present themselves in a way not like anywhere else in the States. Here are four things I think you should do!
1) Our dear friend, Jack Appleford, reads from his opus “101 Dirty Hot Hotel Stories”. If you ever had wondered what crazy stories a hotel concierge has, this book is for you. The reading takes place at the Travelers Bookcase(8375 West 3rd street, Los Angeles CA 90048 323-655-0575) on Friday July 20th. Snacks and Drinks will also be available.
2) The Pershing Square Summer Concert Series is back in full effect. L.A’s best free summer concert series begins every Saturday night July 14th thru August 18th, 8pm-11pm. Join Locals for the 5th year Anniversary Series with Six weeks of entertainment including films, special events and live music featuring Berlin, Modern English, The Fixx, John Waite and my personal favorite, Reverend Horton Heat. 532 S. Olive St. WWW.laparks.org/pershingsquare
3) The 3rd annual LA Street Food Fest Summer Tasting will be happening on July 21st from 3pm-9pm. The event will be taking place at the world famous Rose Bowl. Sample signature bites from over 65 street food vendors. Los Angeles is home of the Food Truck and should be celebrated for it. Check it out. WWW. LASTreetFoodFest.com
4) The LA Weekly will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday August 5th from 11am-2pm. 25 of Los Angeles’s best restaurants and chefs will be there to provide pancakes, doughnuts, bacon pastries, open bar, syrup sampling, fresh juice, coffee, music and fun. Curated by Chef Fred Eric, Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at laweekly.com/pancakebreakfast
So that will do it friends! Go check out these events. You won’t be disappointed!
